Re: STAR WARS SPOILER THREAD. SPOILERS WITHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thinking more about this (and reserving the right to change my mind with Monday's second viewing) I am growing more and more convinced that the new hope comparison as critique is superficial at best. Some similar story beats but the tenor and character development are usually quite different.

I'll say this much: Adam Driver was really awesome in this movie, which is a feat considering how stupid his character was.

lol no. Ridley and Boyega sucked (they both have the annoying affectation a lot of young actors these days have, where they move their mouths in really exaggerated ways while delivering dialogue), and Gleeson (who is a generally terrible actor) gave one of the most hilariously awful performances I've ever seen.stip wrote:All of the actors were great.

Adam Driver is always a joy to watch. I'm excited to know he doesn't disappoint here.

I'll be seeing this film in about two hours, normally I would interpret what you said as a spoiler of sorts but I have no idea who the fuck the actors are.LoathedVermin72 wrote:lol no. Trust me, this is a thing. Watch the way Emilia Clarke says "We can stop judgment day from happening!" in Terminator: Genisys. You'll start seeing it everywhere.durdencommatyler wrote:um... what?LoathedVermin72 wrote: (they both have the annoying affectation a lot of young actors these days have, where they move their mouths in really exaggerated ways while delivering dialogue),

How is saying if performances were good or bad a spoiler?oasisfan35 wrote:I'll be seeing this film in about two hours, normally I would interpret what you said as a spoiler of sorts but I have no idea who the fuck the actors are.LoathedVermin72 wrote:lol no. In the sense that it could alter my true reaction to the film... I was also being facetious.LoathedVermin72 wrote:How is saying if performances were good or bad a spoiler?oasisfan35 wrote:I'll be seeing this film in about two hours, normally I would interpret what you said as a spoiler of sorts but I have no idea who the fuck the actors are.LoathedVermin72 wrote:lol no.
