Has RM ever been so collectively invested in something?

It's great reading Eitherway.

well we wanted REAL things. Not CGI backdrops and settings. They actually filmed here on earth. There is only so much diversity on different types of landscapes you can use. Desert, Forest, Snow... We could have had a CGI Sea like Camino from the prequels, or weird bug people living in a volcano like in Episode 2- but those are not realistically where these people would be living their lives, or setting up their bases.
This is a good point.

This is a good point. I think I'd like to see an urban Star Wars film--i.e., one that doesn't take place in a "secret rebel base," but in an actual, living, breathing city (not the cartoon that was Coruscant in the prequels).

I agree that an urban enviroment would be cool, but you have to be careful to avoid Coruscant/5th element territory (like you said). Plus, these movies are following rebels with fleets of spaceships. Hiding in a city just wouldn't be practical.

the blaster fights actually seemed intimidating. The only point in the entire original trilogy they ever seemed potentially dangerous was the opening scene of A New Hope.

So great. Rey just had me the entire time (outside of me thinking ridley is just adorable). She was great. She is way more confident and more take charge girl than Luke ever was.

I loved how menacing Kylo was using the force. Dragging people to him to choke them! Him having temper tantrums with his saber, stoping the blaster shot mid air in the beginning. Very cool.

The scenes around the disabling of the shields did feel a little rushed, as in there was some information missing. Like a component that gave them leverage over her.

that blaster shot was the coolest thing we've seen a jedi do, other than yoda lifting Luke's X-wing.

Who are the three people who voted worse than the prequels? Does LV have multiple accounts?

I was thinking that maybe she didnt actually disable them but pulled an ace out of her sleeve instead. Nothing. Then it was done and that was the last we saw of her (i think).

Yeah, Finn's dislike of her didn't quite feel earned.
