Star Wars was meaningful character arcs and breathtakingly imaginative visuals. The stories (even the great movies) were always simplistic and full of holes. I hold out hope Rian Johnson gives us all 3, but given the nature of the series the plot will always be the least important piece

I feel so much better about him knowing JJ is executive producer. I also wonder if they will continue following the template and Episode 8 be more along the lines of Empire in terms of moodiness/darkness/characterization.

Most importantly - I really hope they figure out a new weapon for the bad guys. This is getting ridiculous.

just finished attack of the clones...not as terrible as i remembered (excluding hayden christensen and portman,of course)

The story is riddled with conveniences but the feel is perfect and the characters are wonderful (according to everyone on the planet except LV and the people at national review who are upset that the leads are a woman who didn't need to be rescued and a black man who isn't a backstabbing sexual predator) so you can forgive the story (as is often the case with the OT which is similarly drowning in plot conviences) . It's a very good movie and a great Star Wars movie

Sounds like the theatrical version. The Blu ray version has tonnes of extra scenes added for extra boredom value.

Seeing this again tomorrow with dad, brother, and uncle. And booked to see it with the girlfriend again on Boxing Day. Good times.

Attack of the Clones is god-awful. I generally find something to like in most movies I watch, but this one makes it real hard.

There's so many great actors and actresss in this and they're all terrible. Portman, Jackson, McGregor etc. How do you take such a good cast and churn out such crap?

Also, George Lucas was always very open about the fact that he knew he wasn't a great writer. So when he decided to write all thee prequels, why did nobody cut him off at the pass and tell him that he really shouldn't? He can't write dialogue for humans. The 'romance' between Padme and Anakin is the worst crap I've ever watched. It's painful to watch.

Revenge of the Sith is ok, I guess.

Yeah, it just came across as a moody teenager sulking and whining about everything.

Games Radar wrote an interesting article about how Lucas almost wrote the perfect trilogy. It goes into how the prequels should've gone down. Good read.
