I read in an interview that there was a scene cut where Han explained he had a tracking device that Rey inadvertently re-enabled when she was making her repairs.

That's not really necessary. It was fine.@SkitchP wrote:LoathedVermin72 wrote:Well that explains it all.

LV mentioned earlier that he hated that the bad guy was Han and Leia's kid, but that didn't bug me. They were influential people from a line of people with magic powers. It's really not surprising, especially since it happened before. Its no different than finding out Aragorn was descended from kings or what happens in literally any other fantasy film ever made. Its not a big deal.
Contrast that with Lando being Finn's father (which I don't think is a remotely true rumor btw). That would just be terrible.

Anakin creating C3P0: Complete shit.
Rey and Finn stumbling upon The Falcon in an old junkyard/battlefield planet: not so crazy (given the setting)
Kylo being related to the Skywalkers: Completely fine.

Falcon has always had a beacon which switches on as soon as its engines engage. That's canon

Them stumbling on the Falcon there didn't bother me. It was the tipping of it ahead of time.

Re: STAR WARS SPOILER THREAD. SPOILERS WITHIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, now I can join the party. Great movie. Very entertaining. Loved the ending. I thought JJ leaned too much on nostalgia (I cringed with the bad feeling about this line) and Han looked really, really old. In no shape for battle, so it was time to put him down.
Shocked Luke did not have more screen time. Plot was a bit too familiar with another death star that apparently destroys solar systems?
Snoke looked like an alien from the prequels...hoping that's a disguise.
Rey and Finn are strong characters. Great chemistry together. I care about them. Goose bumps for all the new "classic" moments, like when Rey grabbed the light saber and beat up Ren.
Is Finn a potential Jedi??

Before they see the shiny new ship, they say the whole "pile of junk" line about the offscreen falcon. At that moment it was obviously going to be the Falcon. Then the shiny new ship blows up and they reiterate the pile of junk line and then show the falcon. The first mention of it felt entirely gratuitous to me, and blew the reveal entirely. I knew from that moment the shiny new ship would not be an option and that they would turn and end up on the Falcon.

You were too busy writing your anti-Rey propaganda post in your head to notice.
and I have no clue why it bugged me so bad. It just... did.

I wish there were no Falcon reveal at all, really. Nostalgic iconography is the worst.
