How else would you have it happen?
The rumour was Rey meets Han and Chewie digging around endless sand dunes looking for it and find it just in time to escape. Falcon is the first old character you meet in the film. Its reveal has to be great. Was for me.
Surely this way is better.
Honestly?
Quick, get to that ship *quip about hand holding*
Shiny New Ship Explodes
"What about that one"
"that ship hasn't flown in...
BOOM FALCON

And you think that doesn't also telegraph the reveal?

Not as badly. The sentence of explanation occuring at the same time as the visual reveal I think would have been way better.

I kinda don't care. There's two things going on here. Classic RM shit on everything no matter what and some others trying to just enjoy the thing and figure out some of the puzzles the story set for us.
If I don't like something I don't spend much if any time bashing it, (Hozier is a big exception)
I'm more interested in the bright minds here asking questions and discussing the story and not wanking and stressing with minutae and knit picking to take it down.
30 years since we had a great Star Wars film. just let us have our spin on the merry go round and have this moment yeah?
Funny, it seems to me like all the people speculating about every scrap of story in this are the ones obsessing over minutiae.
Everyone is allowed to have and express their opinion about this movie, dime. It's not a "only people who like it can talk" club. If criticism diminishes your joy, then your joy is probably has a pretty unstable foundation.

I really liked the movie, i just didn't like that one thing specifically.

You're speaking to the runner up of the Television characters tournament my friend. I will accept your bashing of movies I love. But please dont make me pick between you and zeb.

In fairness fella youve been ankle biting a ton of posts that are trying to talk about the film just for your own lols.
We get it. Hope you still find it funny or necessary. But it's disruptive at this point.

No doubt. I guess I would expect a movie so caught up in it's own nostalgia to be more dramatic in its reintroduction of such a massive piece of its history.
and part of this is totally just trolling you guys because its an equally weird point to defend.
