Pine was the only good thing about Into Darkness.

He's super talented. I love his take on the character so far. Hopefully that continues to grow and impress under new direction.

Spaced and Big Train are great, but the whole "geek champion Simon Pegg" thing is so, so dumb.

Yeah. He managed to create a totally different Kirk, who is almost as fun to follow as the original. That's a feat.

Cumberbatch would have been better as Spock than as Khan, though, and the Spock they have is obnoxious. Pithy, childish, weightless. Hilarious whenever he emotes.

I would have LOVED Cumberbatch as Spock. What a missed opportunity.

After seeing this preview again the only thing I truly love about these movies is Karl Urban.

Yeah. Though I wonder if there's anyone in the game right now who could do it right.

There is a new Trek show coming to CBS in 2017. But, it's going to be on their "all access" site, which'll cost like $6/month to subscribe.

And it'll probably be trash.

Burt's not wrong, though. Trek has always been better on TV. In movies, it always ends up as "dumb space people in super dumb space," "look, Star Trek is not being Star Trek for a while and isn't that just cute," or basically just 2 hours of melatonin.

I get nervous when any trailer shows us the whole film. That trailer just did that.
