I was just being my usual lovable long-winded self, Ruddo. You wouldn't ban me just for being me, would you?

Love that song and how they showed the vocals and melody blend with the other instruments, esp the acoustic and strings.

Btw, it says "This video is unlisted. Be considerate and think twice before sharing."

how'd you get it? ;)

He looks a lot different in early videos. Is it just weight loss? It almost looks like he had his jaw line shaved down.

There's no low end, which STP have always thrived on. It sounds thin and overly crisp (not in a good way). Anemic. Distant. Detached.
Exactly.

VG, put on No. 4 and then play Shangri-La immediately after. You'll hear what he's talking about.
Exactly. No. 4 has a big, deep, booming sound.

I'm listening to Shangri-La Dee Da for the very first time right now and I have to say I definitely don't have any issues either, it's arguably their most naturalistic and rawest sounding record.

I'm enjoying the hell out of it too, I should add. Definitely near the top of the band's discography for me.

With some degree of trepidation, I'll check out the S/T album soon.

i agree. its one of the greatest ones...and i do love the production.

ST is good, its different, more poppy and more riff oriented...but the production lacks the depth the previous albums have.

I'm completely obsessed with three specific STP songs right now. I'm playing Glide, Wonderful & Regeneration on a nearly constant loop.

I've been listening to STP quite a bit lately too, for the most part discovering their deeper cuts for the first time. I haven't yet heard the self-titled record but my ranking is otherwise the same.

I've found it very difficult to get past the sound of No. 4, it's pretty much unlistenable to me. I can only handle a couple of songs at a time before feeling really worn out.

That ranking looks correct to me. As much as I've tried, No 4 has just never done anything for me.
