Is Han offering himself as sacrifice in that scene? 'im being torn apart, i want to be free of this pain, i know what i have to do..will you help me?' 'yes, anything'

Hoping that his death will take Ben back to the light?

it's ambiguous...

i think han is just being a loving dad, offering to help his son find his way back to the good side.

is plunging a lightsaber through your dad's chest something a light-leaning person would do? i don't think so. kylo made his choice right then and there.

People are overthinking the Han thing on a number of levels. He will not come back to life--he's not force-attuned, so no ghost for him, even. And yeah, when he stepped on the bridge he probably knew, "I'm either going to bring him back or I'm going to die," but I don't think he ever wanted to die.

Basically calling his bluff because the belief is there is still good in him and a good person wouldn't kill their father.

The 'I know what I have to do' line clearly infers he knows he has to kill but can't.
Remember his convo with Snoke?
Snoke testing him and him replying 'he means nothing to me now'

I actually enjoyed it a lot more with a second view. I was overwhelmed in the first one, and yesterday i relaxed a little bit more and it got me how cool the visuals are...and how great Harrison Ford is here. Loved it, might be better than ROTJ.

I've managed to sort a trek to the one cinema playing it in 2D. Worth the effort, I feel. Tonight's socialisin' was spent shouting "LALALALALALA" at people that mentioned Star Wars.
