And while the pacing of the movie is really quick it does a great job of using the set piece sequences to develop the characters

The bridge confrontation won my vote for scene most enhanced with second viewing

That and the dream sequence are the two scenes I am most looking to seeing again.

Vanity Fair interview with Irvin Kershner from 2010. Interesting read for anyone interested.

The dream made more sense. There were lots of great subtle tics and moments in the bridge confrontation I missed the first time.

And while the action was great, it was the characters I definitely enjoyed the most the second viewing

I don't think I've seen a movie in the theater multiple times since The Fellowship Of The Ring. I wanna see this one again.

I'm surprised Boyega/Finn isn't getting more love. He is a very refreshing character, exhibiting a raw, heart-on-your-sleeve emotion in a way that we haven't even seen from a SW movie protagonist since Luke in episode IV before he became a sterile Jedi master. This is coming out of a guy that has been behind a mask in a highly structured military organization his entire life. SW has finally humanized a group of "bad guys" we have been watching get indiscriminately beat up on for 35+ years. I dare say Boyega was threatening to steal the screen in almost every scene he was in, even when matched up against the Han Solo.

I was more annoyed with how Boyega's lines didn't land with me

See, the "hell no", the "DID YOU SEE THAT?!", the inexperienced cockiness with Rey...it all clicked for me. I gobbled it up.

His lines feel a bit contemporary but he delivers them in an engaging way so I don't care

also, unless he was trained at some point with sword weapons, he should've died easily against someone trained with a lightsaber, injured or not

Pretty cool read. I like how he puts the figure of Lucas here. I forgot how important Lucas was.

i dont like him in my first view...in the second it was ok. Boyega was good, but i didnt like the romance between him and Rey at all. It didnt felt right.

Well, I'm assuming since he was rolling with Ren in the Jakku raid, being a front line soldier and all, he probably had training with various blasters and that lightning staff thing the other trooper used against him later at Maz's place. Or possibly he's just a naturally gifted fighter. It's not like he didn't get his ass kicked, he was just fortunate enough to have Rey there to save him.

The other possibility is that he also is attuned the light side of the force. Something drew him away from the First Order after a lifetime of servitude. He liked up on the tie fighter gun pretty quick as well.

It's not reciprocated, which may be why - she just wants to be friends
