Seriously amazing. What an emotional release. Incredibly beautiful. The musicianship and precision.
Also, hearin that voice in person is very surreal and completely mesmerizing. No words really ...
What is the second to last song.... The video shows kids running up an jumping odd a cliff....
Forget the name of that song.
Was my favorite moment.

It was Glosoli, I assume, as they've had basically the same set for the entire tour.Strat wrote:Seriously amazing. What an emotional release. Incredibly beautiful. The musicianship and precision.

Good fucking lord. Most emotionally climactic moment of the show for me.

Do you think we would like this band as much if we knew what the words meant?

Pretty cool song. It took a few listens to really love. So far the first 3 songs we have heard are so different from each other. I'm really excited about this album.

I don't watch the Simpsons new output (since probably around 2000 when even as a 14 year-old I could tell it was going to shit), but I have the sense that they rely on a celebrity appearance/cameo every single episode to push their preachy political bent. Correct me if I'm wrong.

You are wrong. And the show has actually been pretty damn good the last few seasons since I started re-watching. It was headed south but they brought back the show runner from some of its best seasons and it certainly shows.

That was pretty lame. A 2-second bit with no talking and a couple of snippets from Kveikur are all we really got.

Re: Sigur Rós
Weirdly, although the songs sound different, I do think they all have similar sounds running through them. One or two people have commented on the Japanese (or generally Far Eastern) feel of the songs so far, especially in the percussion, the use of gongs and cymbals, and some of the melody lines, instrumentally and vocally. Some of the more stomping drum patterns are quite reminiscent of that as well (not to mention the artwork).HardTI wrote:Pretty cool song. It took a few listens to really love. Re: Sigur Rós
I like this already, but my first reaction, 5 tracks in, is that they are missing Kjartan.
Like any Sigur Ros album, this will take me many listens to fully digest, but I feel that it's their weakest album so far. I still really dig it though. It just doesn't seem like there will be a whole lot to discover with repeated listens.
