Is there actual evidence for a Bonnaroo show or is it just another "PJ did this one time so I'll start the rumor and if I'm right I'll look cool" thing?

I believe someone received an email from the rumoured Nashville venue advising them that the proposed Pearl Jam show is now off their schedule as the band elected to play Bonnaroo instead.
