HBO: Game of Thrones (Song of Ice and Fire)

I thought they did a good job. I knew it was coming. I've been waiting for it for 2.5 years. its the moment in the books where as a reader i just felt helpless watching the ones i was rooting for get decimated. the hope that the son rob can have revenge for his fathers death gone.

As soon as the music started i felt a little knot in me. I liked the entire scene. I actually thought Michelle Fairly nailed it.

Looking back on it that moment between Rob and Cat in the begining was touching. Probably the last moments they spent alone together.

Bran and Jon being so close Arya being so close all in the same episode the reunions that just never happened. It was good stuff.

Oh and Roose Bolton is such a slimey turd. He is an easy one to hate.

The only thing bad about the last scene was Michelle Fairleys exasperated yell. I can't believe that was the take they used.

Well, I have always hated the "blood spewing from the slit throat like it's a 3500psi pressure washer" effect, but yeah, this. I understand it was suppose to be guttural, strained, and desperate, but that sounded like an old lady had just accidentally knocked over her favorite tea set. It would have been better served as a whisper.

Other than that, I thought they really captured the feelings from the book well. My wife was shocked, so I guess it wasn't as telegraphed as I thought.

I thought the ending was a little too telegraphed for my tastes, but I knew what was going to happen. I'd be interested to hear from more people who didn't know it was coming to see what they thought.

Overall, they did a very good job translating the source material onto the screen. Action packed episode.

I had no idea what was going to happen last night and I thought they nailed it. I never even really suspected that they were all going to be slaughtered like that. I knew things were going to well and something was going to go down, but I was more expecting something in terms of a twist on the Arya reunion.

I thought the ending was a little too telegraphed for my tastes, but I knew what was going to happen. I'd be interested to hear from more people who didn't know it was coming to see what they thought.

I haven't made it to that point in the books and I felt blindsided, but thinking back there were plenty of clues that let you know something bad was gonna happen. Even if you expected Cat or Robb to die, I think it would be hard to predict a massacre like what happened.

You would think the internet douche brigade or obnoxious radio personalities would revel in ruining GoT plot twists, but for the most part it seems absent. It's pleasantly surprising and I hope it continues.

I think it was only telegraphed if you had an inkling (like having heard the phrase "red wedding" in passing). I think up until the doors shut, it seemed like something might actually go right, if only because up to that point, the whole series has been a downer for the starks.
