I don't want to overstate it, as it typically only applies to music, movies, food, activities, politics, and parenting, but it can be a challenge.

The only real deal breakers for me would be opposing political views or if she was a Raider or Broncos fan. We would not be married if any of those were true. The rest we can work around.

I'll be seeing this again in about 3 hours with my boys. Will report back tonight with their reactions. Looking forward to it.

Despite them needing 2 x piss breaks, and a shit break, the boys really enjoyed the movie.

They were quite excited when each of the new characters appeared, as well as the old characters and the various nods to the OT. My youngest was a little disappointed that Luke made only a small appearance at the end. For some reason he was expecting to see him featured as a Jedi Master, i had to explain this would probably be the case in ep VIII.

When Han was killed, my youngest turned to me and asked "is Han dead?", I had to respond with "probably". My oldest asked "why did Ren kill his own dad?", my response was to explain how evil Ren really is.

My oldest got a little fidgety and distracted during the movie, he's watched all SW movies but is not the fan that my youngest and I are. My youngest was fixated and right into it the entire movie. The look on his face was pure excitement.

Afterwards, I asked them about their thoughts and what they liked best. My oldest said it was pretty cool and he liked the battles, and he liked Poe and the storm trooper that had the electrified melee weapon (good choices ). My youngest said he loved all of it, and thought it was all awesome (I think he was a little overwhelmed and will need to watch it a few more times), he liked Kyle Ren and Finn. He was also convinced that Han really isn't dead and that he'll be back, however he was also convinced that Kyle Ren was killed. I said we'll find out in ep VIII (who knows, he could be right about either/both).

I enjoyed it the 2nd time around, picked up a few things I missed last time. Captain Phasma still gave me the shits though - such an overrated and badly used character.

All in all, it was a good time.

It's crazy how many scenes originally involved Luke's lightsaber. The original first scene would have been a touch too morbid for SW -

The reason why Rey is a skilled pilot is pretty lame -

I'm pretty certain I'll be happy to stick it on randomly as I do with the OT films in the coming years.

Yeah I agree. You need to see it couple of times to get past the spectacle and into the characters and their stories/motivations.
