I think that is exactly what his problem is. He is still very bitter about the prequels, and his terrible movies between that and his "retirement".

Look, Lucas, they were fucking terrible.

I am very curious about what his stories were. I was under the impression that they are still following his overall timeline of the saga though?

no way this is what Lucas was thinking with regards to the timeline. I doubt its even close.

The prequels are terrible but he's 100% right about the new one being mindless fan service.

He always hammers the point home that its not about spaceships its about the family soap opera. This movie still very much focuses on the skywalkers and family soap

That's what kills me about it. Was he hard up? Did he really need this cash? Did he just want them to get made, but didn't want to do it himself?

I can't imagine he needed the money. What does he do all day in that compound of his?

After shoehorning every single element of the OT into the prequels Lucas can't say shit about fan service (which, by the way, is not a dirty word). He's just pissed someone else did it well.

Lucas, to my knowledge, hasn't actually made a good movie in almost 4 years. That must put his friends in an awkward position

TFA rebooted SW in a brilliant yet predictable way. Every element that was wanted and needed was there plus the introduction of 4 new main characters. Plus it left you wanting more.

If he's not already another Howard Hughes, I assume he's well on his way. I've heard he's isolated himself from much outside input.

He'll be pissing in jars soon.

Gee, I wonder why the billionaire who made the prequels wouldn't be interested in outside input.

Is a "white slaver" a white person who enslaves people or a person who enslaves white people?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Here was another great quote from that interview. "How you put a story together ... how you make it effective emotionally, I know how to do that. I have a talent for it."
