I was going to say Roth is pretty reliable, but I didn't realize how little he had put out as a director. I liked Cabin Fever a lot, and the two Hostel films were ok. Haven't seen Knock, Knock.

I loved Knock Knock. Far and away his best film to date. It takes the satire started by The Green Inferno and blows it wide open. Goes way further. It's hilarious and unsettling and pretty brilliant.

I thought the narrative of Southpaw was really solid and compelling. Very interesting use of defamiliarization.

Agree. Its just the story is not good. Its quite normal.

Finally got around to watching Richard Shepard's Dom Hemingway. I'm a huge fan of The Matador and The Hunting Party, and Jesus, did this ever suck. What a letdown. One of the most insufferably overwritten scripts this side of Tarantino. Ugh.

Personally I'd wait - I thought it was pretty meh, but the boys (10 &12) seemed to love it!
