Yeah, this one was pretty great. Sindee has got to be one of the most villainous characters in film history, but you kind of feel for her by the end. Probably because Alexandra (who is desperate for love, easily lovable, and yet unloved) cares for her. Great movie.VinylGuy wrote:Tangerine.
Ok, consider me a big Sean Baker fan...I loved Starlet and with Tangerine he just stepped up his craft. The movie looks GORGEOUS and it was shoot on a fuckin Iphone...great music, great cast...
Whenever i see one of those corporate boring movies like the skeleton twins ill remember his movies.

I didn't make it five minutes into Tangerine. I feel like the world is pranking me by praising that movie.

Re: What movies are you watching?
The beginning of the movie is the worst part, and here's why. The main character thrives on drama. At the beginning of the movie, she's just happily reconnecting with her friend. As soon as she has something to be "drama" about, she becomes herself and the movie has a reason to live. You can see them acting in the first scene, but that first scene is not like the rest of the movie.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I didn't make it five minutes into Tangerine. Does the rest of the movie still look like a pile of garbage, though?

Watched Kill Bill last night and my other half loves that film, it's probably his favourite but I don't get it.
But watching Hateful Eight and it's wonderful. Tarantino has found his stride again but with a new step. Loved it.

I'm going to watch a fan edit of Episode 1 tonight. Hopefully it doesn't completely ruin my developing appreciation for the Star Wars movies.

Im glad you enjoyed it. I thinks its a triumph to cinema. Specially the production design. The Argonaut wrote:Yeah, this one was pretty great. I just watched Steve Jobs.
Well, gotta say i liked it. I dont care for the ending, again...puting him into a pedestal, that fuckin uplifting song..until then the whole thing was good, with superb acting from Fassbender and a nice direction from Boyle.
But that ending...god.

It depends on the mood you are in.Strat wrote:Should I watch Bridge of Spies or Hateful Eight?
Both of them are masterfully crafted and shows how good are Spielberg and Tarantino at making real cinema. My guess is that Bridge Of Spies is better.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I watched the anti cheese version and it was surprisingly good. I haven't seen the prequels since they came out in theatres, so I wasn't really that aware of the changes, but I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to watching episode 2.dimejinky99 wrote:tommymtcom wrote:I'm going to watch a fan edit of Episode 1 tonight. The most notable change, to me, was changing jar jar's voice to an unintelligible language and subtitling him. He didn't drive me crazy so mission accomplished.

The Good Dinosaur. It was okay. Mostly enjoyable, but utterly unsatisfying in that classic Pixar way (I know no one agrees with this). It did have beautiful, wonderfully detailed environments, though I wish the character designs were less cartoonish.
