I think the arrangement, lack of drums, tempo, etc. makes the songs sound very similar.solace wrote:i've heard this twice now, but i don't hear it... someone said it was just because of the "you're" part in the chorus? which seems like a gigantic stretch to me.Chris_H_2 wrote:I know I was down on this album before, but I really like it.
By the way, Fireproof is a total ripoff of Racing Like a Pro. And the end of Don't Swalllow the Cap is straight from the end of Brainy.
do you mean the guitar arpeggio/chord progression?
if so, they're definitely both in a minor key, but the guitar part is a lot different if you play them back to back on guitar.
By the way, I LOVE this album. I have it higher than High Violet. A lot of the songs would sound right at home on other previous albums (Demons = Alligator; Don't Swallow the Cap = HV; Fireproof = Boxer; This is the Last Time = Sad Songs; Graceless = Boxer (reminds me a lot of Apartment Story); Slipped and I Need My Girl = HV (this is what Runaway should have sounded like)).
I Should Live in Salt and Humiliation are HUGE standouts for me.
