It's going to be embarrassing when he says no, but I hope Miami hires Josh McDaniels.

Anyway, with both of them you better hope Tannenbaum and Grier are strong enough to not let themselves get run over. And for Shanny, I still think he's capable of being an awesome coach. I would be stunned if his ego allows him to give up control over the roster, though.

Better try entering the Coughlin and Payton sweepstakes, then.4/5 wrote:Well, I think Tannenbaum is an idiot and Grier is his willing puppet, so...Green Habit wrote:Anyway, with both of them you better hope Tannenbaum and Grier are strong enough to not let themselves get run over. Re: the miami dolphins
lol bearsThe Miami Dolphins are "close" to a deal with Adam Gase to become their next head coach, sources told ESPN.
Slight issues remain in the negotiations, but there is a chance that Gase could be named Dolphins coach as early as Saturday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Gase, the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears, would become Miami's fourth consecutive hire with no prior head-coaching experience, joining former Dolphins coaches Joe Philbin, Tony Sparano and Cam Cameron. He is considered a "quarterback guru," which is highly coveted by Miami. He did good work with quarterback Jay Cutler this season and Peyton Manning and Tim Tebow in Denver in previous seasons.
The Dolphins are looking for someone who can get the best out of fourth-year quarterback Ryan Tannehill in 2016 and beyond. Tannehill was given a $96 million extension last year but has been inconsistent with a 29-35 record as a starter.
Gase would become the Dolphins' ninth coach since 2004. He also interviewed with the Eagles, Browns and Giants and has been considered the front-runner for the Dolphins job.
Miami interviewed seven candidates this week, including former interim head coach Dan Campbell and former longtime head coaches Mike Shanahan and Mike Smith. Gase has been the only candidate to get a second interview.
At 37, Gase would become the league's youngest head coach. He has no head-coaching experience but has been a target of NFL coaching searches for at least three years.
The Dolphins were 6-10 this season and missed the playoffs for the seventh consecutive year.

And now all the insiders are reporting it's a done deal.
Too bad for them the Chargers didn't fire Mike McCoy, he would have been the logical replacement.spike wrote:lol bears

Why lol bears?
I appreciate his ability to find a way to limit Jay's turnovers, but his play calling left a lot to be desired. Jay has the blueprint for success now, and Fox will have no trouble finding some to take over OC.
