I can't help but think if I was involved in the making of this movie everyone would find me obnoxious cause I would disagree with every decision Peter Jackson wanted to make. Watching the movie did make me want to read all the books again. I kinda want to play Shadow Of Mordor now too so it was worth a watch just for rekindling my interest in all things Middle Earth.
You should DEFINITELY play Shadow of Mordor. Hell of a fun game.

I've been trying to think of which game to ask my sisters to get me for Christmas you just sealed the deal.
This video should tell you everything you need to know about how awesome this game is. I need to go back and replay it...

Okay, so I watched the extended cut and...I love this movie now. I liked it already, but I thought it was drastically improved. Better paced, more complete, more epic. It went from my least favorite of the three to probably my favorite. I also saw a lot of things in it that I didn't before, thematically speaking. I couldn't help but think of all the discussion in the terrorism thread while watching: war, peace, diplomacy, tolerance, heroism, cowardice, greed, distrust, corruption, xenophobia, compassion, hatred, politics - it's all in there. And Jackson's direction of the action really is expertly crafted; I felt some of that LOTR magic.

Also, the scene that earns the R is probably my favorite scene in the whole movie; great to see Jackson working some gore gags again.

I'd rather watch Genisys again.

Apart from thorins funeral I don't think the extra footage added any value. And I'm normally the one saying the extended editions are better.

Can't wait for the fan super edit.

Also the extra footage of Beorn in the battle. That was good.

Genisys is probably the worst movie I've seen all year.

Same here. But Battle of the Five Armies was the worst movie I saw last year, and it trumps Genisys by the slimmest of margins for me.

Nice to hear. I just got this in the mail, but I'm about to start watching Jessica Jones so it'll be a while until I get to it

Tell me how JJ is. It is on my list but I'm so far behind in my TV watching right now.

This was already my favorite of the three, but it's the first one I'm likely to go back and revisit on occasion

I'll give this another watch. Didnt think the extra footage added all that much except for more battle stuff.

That's mostly what it was, but pretty entertaining stuff.

My only issue with the battle is the geography is confusing and the numbers don't seem to add up. But I love how he stages these kinds of sequences

Didn't know where to put this but it's great. Almost 20 minutes of Tolkien reading from Lord of the rings. He had that really proper English accent which has somehow disappeared.
