Pretty sad day for us music freaks.

Fucking badass that he released a new album less than a week before checking out. Classic.

Also, listening to Seu Jorge's "Life Aquatic Sessions" right now, great stuff & extra moving today. Looking forward to dropping the needle on some Hunky Dory at home tonight.

I :heartbeat: Hunky Dory. Aladdin Sane has been sounding good to me today.

I feel the same way, Spen. Though I remember watching the music video for "Little Wonder" as a kid and thinking for years that all his stuff probably sounded like scary otherworldly jungle music.

I later discovered Hunky Dory and it is an undeniably great album but I never explored much further beyond that.
I've tried many times to get into 70s Bowie but I've never had anything close to the kind 'aha!' moments I've had with the music of the people he often collaborated with, particularly Eno and Fripp.

I think I'll listen to Blackstar this week and I may also check out some of his 90s records as that's one part of his discography I've never explored further.

I spun Blackstar twice last night. An incredibly poignant record, given that we now live in a Bowie-less world.

Tis a Pity She Was a Whore is one of the best tracks I've heard in months. I haven't had time to really digest the rest.

That was his Record Store Day single on Black Friday in '14. I managed to pick one up (the last one) at a record store in Brooklyn and I've been obsessed with that song since. First time I heard it I thought, "man if this is where he's at, I hope we get another record, but if this is the last "new" Bowie song I ever hear... worth it."

Go to David Bowies Twitter account.
Click on who he's following.
Look at the last person he followed.

Perfect.

It's sad to loose someone with such creative integerity

Hunky Dory was one of my first real music loves ... this day is a very, very sad day

I was bummed about Weiland. That was expected. Lemmy made me sad. But on the way into work this morning before anyone else was out on the road and it was still dark I played Space Oddity. I teared up.

Like a few of you, I wasn't a huge fan, but knew his songs and how important he was to music, art, and culture. After work I went out to the used record store and picked up Nothing Has Changed and Ziggy Stardust.

I feel stupid that it takes the loss of a huge artist to force you to stop and remember why they were so special to begin with. It makes me feel like I've missed out on something that was always there had I been willing to seek it out. Its my own fault.

But it sure is hard to fathom the world without him now.

Rest In Peace.

That looks more like a twitter account manned by the marketer/manager not a personal account.
