Well put about Matthew Weiner being "seen as a disciple more than as a master." I assume you mean to David Chase. Weiner is a master. As evidence, I'd submit the superiority of the seasons of The Sopranos that he was involved in. A large piece of that is just the show finding it's perfect footing and also it's being allowed to do more as the show in the later seasons inhabited a television landscape with other "prestige shows" at the beginning of the "golden era of television" that The Sopranos essentially single-handedly inspired.
But I have to think that a huge part of it is Matthew Weiner. He's the credited writer on some of the best episodes, and (to me at least) Mad Men ended up surpassing The Sopranos in just about every way.

"I don't want to ever stop having conversations."
"That sounds like a good place to end, man."
Good job, guys. Interesting conversation. I'm a little disappointed that you guys got along so well, even if that was what I was expecting. What I'm most surprised about is that I listened to the whole thing in one sitting. Well done.

Thanks for listening.
One of my goals with this was to find a common ground with LV. Because it's really already there. Inherently. Maybe I'm one of the only posters that sees it, but he has a specific POV and it's not that difficult to really wrap your head around. I don't know. I wanted to leave the bigger conflicts for those who really feel them. This was truly organic and he didn't cut much of the interview together. It's largely (outside of a noticeable sidetrack about my balding head) intact as it happened.
I really hope this series takes off. It has all the potential in the world. This was long but I hope it didn't feel too long. I felt like it clipped pretty nicely. And I just love that LV was open to having a conversation like this.
I'll gladly do another one. Hopefully, more RMers will want to keep this rolling and I won't have the chance to throw my name back in the ring. But even if others don't want to, I'd be happy making this a regular thing between Jordan and me.

But also, is there anything you want us to expand on in the forum, Argo? Any follow up questions? Things you want to expand on?
Let's keep the conversation going.
