I know that this is a big deal in the state of Alabama, but as college football's popularity continues to wane, people are going to begin to yawn at Bama going 12-2 or 14-1 every year (just like it's already started to happen with coaches who have mastered the one-and-done nature of top-flight college BB). Coaching an NFL team is more difficult, and I think Saban's legacy would be more widely praised if he could return to the pros and succeed there.

agree, good game, and clemson did enough to win. a few field goals instead of td's, those two explosive plays, and the onside kick were the difference.

i sure hope it doesn't take clemson only 30+ years to reach the championship. the 2016 team should return most of the offense, but will probably have to replace some key guys on defense.

sure seemed like the clock official/ref were pulling for bama.
clock running prematurely at the end of the half after the 1st down, and almost 15 seconds ran off with the delayed TD call in 4th qtr.

yeah, trying not to dwell, but that was some shady clock management at the end, and at halftime. still, those things were'nt responsible for blown coverage, twice, on the bama tight end. or the blown on-side kick. those three things right there were the difference. clemson stops those 3 things, they win.

i guess some silver lining, at least clemson went toe to toe with bama, and it wasn't a blowout, or embarrassment. if the tigers pull in a solid recruiting class, and having almost the entire offense coming back, 2016 can be another good year for the tigers.

It's been a pretty awful year for "the human element" all around.

It's already happened really. National Championships are more relief for Saban, Meyer than anything else. Yes he was happy last night but they are back at it Thursday.

It's a different discipline in the pros. If he was going to go to the Pros again, I think he'd only go if he had a QB to build around and 10 million a year.

I wonder if he would consider the Giants job.

To do what he's done with different staffs and win 5 titles at two programs 4 in 7 years is really as good as has ever been done in college football, if he were to cap that with a Super Bowl... It's going to be a huge decision he's going to have to make soon.

Best news. At least one more year with Watson. Lots of young players played last night due to injuries (and abject stupidity), the entire team has the right mindset, they outplayed Alabama in many areas, Failed particularly in the secondary (safety) and on special teams. If they keep that coaching staff intact, they are going to continue to build in recruiting.

Dabo might be one of the most fun coaches in the nation to play for right now. Watson is the best QB that's ever come out of the state of Georgia in my opinion and I don't think it's particularly close.

You guys did this replacing almost the entire OL and a lot of the defense right?

That's why the Bucs job would be intriguing--there's a young QB there that showed lots of promise in his first year, and they've got a ton of cap space. I dunno if that Tweet from a week ago was a joke about Saban already interviewing...but they should give him a call.

Saban is 64. He's going for Bryant's record. I'm not sure what he has to gain by switching to the pros. He is a chance to have the most titles of any college coach ever.

I gotta think he wants to at least match Bear Bryant in championships before calling it quits there.
