So according to my research (someone please correct this if I'm missing something) the following songs have won a march madness tournament

Immortality
Insignificance
Tremor Christ
Corduroy
Black
In My Tree
Do the Evolution
I Got Shit

I believe I Got Shit was the first winner (and hasn't done particularly well in recent years). So the plan will be to run a tournament without the 7 most recent winners, and then once we have the winner of the current tournament we have the winners circle with the previous 7 winners plus the best performer from this year.

Please let me know if I'm missing a winner, and if I Got Shit was in fact the first winner.

According to the stickied master song list there are 224 possible songs. I cut that list down to 199 (see below for songs not included).

Phase 1:
64 3 way matches (randomized, though there will be at least two official releases in each grouping).


Phase 2 (:
The 64 winners of the three way matches enter into a randomized tournament and play through until we get a winner

Phase 3
The winner of that 64 song tournament joins the 7 past winners to determine the 2016 grand champion.
