no it didn't. wolf had no technical information, and was only good in the final hour. both were too long tho.

Wolf didn't need to dole out didactic technical info because it got at the heart of the problem. I think it's something of a minor masterpiece, so I don't agree with only the last hour being good. Excess needs to be part of that movie's DNA in order for it to succeed.

So the big short is more to the core documentary and wolf of wall street is more excess bang bang Michael bay and that is why LV liked it more?

The part that frightened me and stayed with me was the post scripts at the end, and the one telling you that Burry(Burtt?) is back trading but now investing in water.

Scary stuff since water /water companies are about to get up there with oil in commodities.

Yeah, there's a part in the middle that drags on for a bit too long. But loved the format and (other than the dragging bit) the pace.

Hard to make a movie with so much technical/boring information about economics and finance that is also entertaining. Wolf of Wall Street was a great film about a financial hustler. The Big Short is about how an economic catastrophe came to pass. Very different films.

Should I watch this then? I can't decide between this, Spotlight, or Bridge of Spies.

I submit the popcorn factor is higher for a tale of excess and hubris gone wrong than for pedophilia.
