Jamie, probably even with one hand.

There are the characters whose personal attributes make them suited to lead armies and the ones who are well designed for single combat. I'd probably rather have Ned or Stannis leading my troops then Jamie or Robert, but if I had to have a duel I'm calling on J+R.

Viserys was the rightful king.

I'm not sure it has to be either or. Stannis is a brilliant commander but also fights on the front lines, as shown on the Blackwater.

And conversely Jaime is proving to be a capable commander and strategist in the Riverlands.

I think once you flee your Kingdom and live in exile you give up your claim.

Who is the rightful heir now? Does the game of Thrones universe allow women to inherit titles?

Yes. Once the male lines are gone you go with the female.

Or if you live in Dorne.

Yeah under Dornish law females have just as much a claim as the males so it's whoever is older. Targs used to do that too I think but they stopped at one point.

That is true, and all these people are competent, but being a serviceable or even courageous fighter doesn't make you a great one.

Which is why I voted for Jaime.

if there are no males to inherit, a female can inherit the titles. In the case of the Targaryeans, after Viserys and Dany, their default heir would be the Baratheons because they are descended from a Targaryean grandmother

Stannis.

One because he'll cheat and use Melissandre and her black magic.

And, two because he's banged her. He should've enjoyed it more though.

Nobody is wrong here, first off, but to Tommy's point: if you have no supporters or an army at your back, your claim to the throne is as good as a tourney sword in a trial by combat. Words are wind if people don't believe in them.
