I had read somewhere a while ago where Kathleen Kennedy had said that ALL the original cast would be back in Episode VII - which also suggests that Ford will be back

My bad - I meant Episode VIII
In " Star Wars: The Force Awakens," Han Solo has been stabbed by his own son Kylo Ren. But as the producer mentioned that everyone in the current cast lineup will return in Episode 8, it could mean that Han might reprise his role in the upcoming film

I believe good storytelling can save almost any premise, but that is going to need to be some damn good storytelling

The only conceivable way Han could be in the next one is in some sorta flashback. Something that's never happened in star wars.

I am bummed we won't get to see Han Luke Leia and Chewie on screen together again.

This was meant to go in here. Sorry for the dp
One of the guys on collider Jedi council mentioned this and I wish he hadn't.

His point was the death of Han didn't have anything like the clout it should have cos they didn't give Han and Kylo a moment earlier n the film.
I was thinking a perfect way to do it would be to have han seeing Kylo carrying Rey onto his ship, you do get a shot of Han seeing him. But had he called out Ben! At that moment, and cut to Kylo turning and stopping and looking at him but then just going on the ship and ignoring Han, it would have had a lot more powerful impact when their scene on the bridge comes.

Strat wrote:Is Han Solo dead? Can it be? You know that was the question I put to Harrison Ford when the Golden Globes ended on Sunday night.

Ford and actress wife Calista Flockhart were caught up in a scrum of A list stars including Mark Ruffalo and Oscar Isaac, all of where trying to get out of the Beverly Hilton ballroom.

So I asked Ford if it was true that Han Solo was really dead? We see him killed with a light saber by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in “The Force Awakens.” It looks like he falls to his death. But remember, this is fiction– anything can happen to save Han Solo. And it seems unlikely that the final “Star Wars” trilogy would end with a dead Han. Also, patricide is kind of a miserable way to die.

So?

“He’s resting,” Ford told me, after repeating my question. “Is he dead? He’s resting.” He did NOT say, “he’s dead.”

Earlier this week, a source close to Ford indicated to me that he’d be back in the next “Star Wars” installment.

We shall see. My guess is, Han Solo is saved by a force in the galaxy far, far away.
