Fucking fantastic. The performances were so great and that little kid - My goodness. It was heartbreaking and beautiful. Great tension and release. I just, yea. That was a great movie.

13 Hours was good. Not great. But man, Bay was in outer fucking space making those combat scenes. My god. I really think he's moved into almost avant-garde territory with the way he frames and edits. His sense of space and composition is dizzying.

The Big Short was so good. Alternatively funny, intense and terrifying. Such an odd little movie, but right up my alley.

I've been hesitating about this one because it seems so dark, but it's an Irish-Canadian production (just like myself

) so how can I resist!? I've got the Big Short lined up next, and then Room.

I didn't see the Intern, but my impression was that it was yet another bad choice for Deniro.
