So did Chandler Jones have a drug overdose on Sunday? That's what they were hinting at on the news this morning.

From what I gather, he smoked some weed or ate a pot brownie and freaked out. Hey, we've all been there and/or saw this in college.Simple Torture wrote:So did Chandler Jones have a drug overdose on Sunday? That's what they were hinting at on the news this morning.
The local police attempted to squash the story in when contacted by the Boston Herald. They are trying to hide behind hippa laws, but the initial story was that they (police) had no contact with Jones, but their own record indicate there was contact.
The real kicker...the head of the local police also operates Gillette Stadium security, so he was trying to protect Jones and the Pats from an embarrassing issue. Still, hippa laws are super strong, so I doubt this sees the light of day.

Re: New England Patriots
Are Pats fans even a little bit afraid of the Chiefs?
Because I'm fucking terrified of the Pats.

Here's what worries me about this match-up....durdencommatyler wrote:Are Pats fans even a little bit afraid of the Chiefs?

The Chiefs have won 11 in a row - gotta be the hottest team in the league right now
Smith is a capable QB - not gonna lose the game for the Chiefs
The Pats are the most injured team (multiple sources on this) in the NFL this season, suffering more injuries to its starting RB, two top WRs, and on and on and on. F#$$, even Brady has a high ankle sprain. And while some are returning for this game, they have been out of game shape for quite some time.
Just doesn't "feel" like its the Pats year. I think the injuries, coupled with a hot team coming in Foxboro, makes this a pick 'em game. Probably comes down to the last play.
Now, if the Pats were more healthy, than I wouldn't be worried until the Super Bowl. But injuries are part of the game and are no excuse.
That's at least where I stand at this moment. So, not really scared. Just concerned.

Oh, and how could I forget this! Yes, that game last year plays a part in all of this. Its recent history and its ugly.Self wrote:I remember last year, Joe.

I just have a feeling that all this week everyone has been talking about how hot the Chiefs are and how hot the Seahawks are, forgetting that this is Tom Brady and forgetting that the Panthers only lost ONE GAME all season. A lot of hype but I think the Pats win fairly easy, and maybe a little closer but the Panthers will win too.

Yeah, I don't expect a blowout either way. But I'm not anywhere near as confident in my Chiefs this weekend as many nationally seem to be.E.H. And I expect the Panthers to win as well. But I care far less about all that.

Re: New England Patriots
How many teams have won 12 games in a row? It can't be many. And the Chiefs have never done it. They've been playing well on the road during this streak but this is a different level. They haven't played anyone as good as the Pats since the streak started. Except the Broncos, who, yes, they beat, but largely because Peyton collapsed. Brady won't collapse.Self wrote:I remember last year, Joe.

Re: New England Patriots
I would feel good about that game too if I were you. A seriously banged up Pittsburgh team quite possibly without Rapeface and Antonio Brown and no running back... and a below average D. I'll be surprised if Denver doesn't demolish them, actually.doug rr wrote:i'm afraid about both teams coming into denver...for whatever reason, I feel pretty good about pitt this sunday

I think all eight teams left are realistically capable of winning it all, to be honest.

I can't see Green Bay or Kansas City winning it, because I don't think Green Bay can get out of the NFC, and I don't think Kansas City stands much of a chance against anyone in the NFC except for Green Bay.Green Habit wrote:I think all eight teams left are realistically capable of winning it all, to be honest.
I also think injuries have put a lot of damper on the Pats and Steelers chances, and I will never ever believe in Peyton Manning in the playoffs, so maybe Denver makes the Super Bowl, but if they do, I see a repeat of the drubbing they received two years ago

Green Bay sucks and I'm glad that Rogers has been eliminated from the "best QB in the league" discussion.
