RNDM

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

I wonder if the Double Door will even be open for the Chicago show, the landlords are trying to evict them again.

Nice! Definitely a more straightforward pop jam but great vocals by Arthur. Really looking forward to this release as I'm still enjoying the shit out of Ghost Riding. I think someone else already said it but I find myself much more interested in this than anything PJ has on the horizon.

It's pretty cool that they're offering this on cassette, but there's no way I'm paying money for a cassette.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

New song and video. Ghost Riding was better. I pre ordered the vinyl....off Pearl Jam.com. It felt gross but I couldn't find another option.
how much was shipping?

it's on preorder with amazon prime, but it's listed for $3 more than PJ.com and other sites

I just checked my email confirmation but it didn't say. I wanna say the total was $25. Steep but the first record was a nice package and I don't mind supporting Jeff and Joseph, who both seem to be sincere artistic dudes.

RNDM announce new album

RossRNDM (the side-project of Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament, singer/songwriter Joseph Arthur and The Fastbacks/War Babies drummer Richard Stuverud) have announced their second album Ghost Riding, due for release on March 4th through Dine Alone Records.

Ghost Riding finds the trio exploiting their creative smorgasbord of previous projects into an irresistible new beast. The title track – which is available for download now – is a beautiful new alt-rock symphony with orchestrated strings and the anthemic cry of, “We’re still young” resonating throughout.

On the song, Jeff Ament says:

Ghost Riding’ embodies what we went after on this record: pushing ourselves creatively with new songwriting approaches, unique sounds, groove and uncomfortable instrumentation…Joseph wrote a great take of longing of childhood past, really beautiful words.

The 11-track album opens with the electro-industrial march of “Stumbling Down” before leading into the dreamy indie-rock of “Comfortable”. Elsewhere, Ghost Riding holds beautiful blues ballads as found on “Stronger Man” and explores funky vibrations on “NYC Freeks”. RNDM infuse Southern folk influence on “Stray”, and have recently unveiled the video.

Ghost Riding is the follow up to RNDM’s 2012 debut album Acts. It will be available on digital, CD and vinyl formats. On the day of release the band will commence a seven-date US headline tour, starting at Seattle’s The Crocodile and finishing at the Double Door, Chicago on March 15th. Full RNDM tour dates can be found at rndmband.com

first review:
Album Review: RNDM – Ghost Riding
by Lisa Schreiner

The music world could surely use a breath of fresh air and RNDM is here to supply the oxygen. With their sophomore album Ghost Riding, RNDM gives us what we’ve been craving to hear since, well, their debut album Acts in 2012. Comprised of singer Joseph Arthur (Fistful of Mercy), bassist Jeff Ament (Pearl Jam) and drummer Richard Stuverud (Three Fish, Tres Mts.), RNDM provides a flow of creativity that expresses what music is supposed to be; daring, unrestricted and original. Ghost Riding hardly sounds like anything you might find in any Top 40 list, and that’s exactly what makes it a great album.

Joseph Arthur’s beautifully haunting voice eases into your ears effortlessly in the track “Walls”, leaving you lulled into a peaceful trance, while “NYC Freeks” brings a funky vibe that this New Yorker can certainly appreciate. The rhythm section provided by Ament and Stuverud highlight these musicians’ enviable talents that go beyond plucking a bass string or beating a snare drum. Not one of the songs on Ghost Riding sound like each other, but they all sound like RNDM.

RNDM will be on tour in March, dates can be found on their official site.
