Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. Many of you are way more impressed with Jon Snow than I am (as a warrior). Maybe it's me, but I tend to read a negative correlation between leadership abilities and fighting abilities in these books. The best leaders are all competent fighters, but I think the point is that they're not the best, and people follow them for other reasons.

Jon Snow as a warrior is willing, enthusiastic and ordinary. He tries real hard. Much like me in the sack.

I think his only real advantage is the Valyrian sword, and I'm not sure how much of an advantage that is against someone who is more about fluid movement and fencing over swapping steel and AARRGGH.

Syrio doesn't wear armour, either. Which, while enhancing both his speed and fluidity of movement, is also a huge disadvantage against an armoured opponent with Valyrian steel and a shield. This is a tough one.
