It was a gorgeous finale, I thought. Maybe one of my favorites in TV history.

Really? well, overall I think I like the first season more than this one, but after that comment i'll definitely watch it. Thanks DcT

You might not like it quite as much. It just resonated with me in a big way. It tied everything, all the major themes and stylistic choices, together. It just worked from the first shot to the last. So satisfying. For me, anyway. But if you haven't enjoyed the season as much overall, you may not feel that same connection to the material.

I liked it. Worked really well with the themes of the show. And there had to be some sort of payoff. I love that they just fucking went for it. And like others have said, it works because it's not out of left field. They'd done a good job planting it throughout the series.

Different animals. Freeman and "Biff Tannen" brought a hammy silliness to S1 that I loved.
Yeah, it was much closer in tone to the film, which added a lot for me. And it was terrifying. It was horrible and violent and truly awful (in a good way). Much like the film. The second season was more heady and contemplative and much less frightening. Like you said, different animals.

Not a knock on season 1, which was fantastic, but I preferred season 2 over 1 by a decent margin.

I really hope this season can keep up with those two.
