how's cage in it? he's legitimately one of my favorite actors
He was excellent. One of my favorite performances from him. He makes some interesting choices about when to go big and small.
what are ur top 5 cage performances? i was just looking at his filmography and realized i haven't seen anything he's made in the last 5 years, but i don't think i'm missing much
Hmm. That's tough. There's a lot of Cage I haven't seen. But, right now, I'd say:
Snake Eyes
Joe
World Trade Center
Adaptation
Raising Arizona

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I hadn't seen this thing in probably 15 or 20 years. I remember enjoying it as a kid. But... Man! Little kid me didn't appreciate this movie anywhere near enough! This thing is goddamn gorgeous. Holy shit! What a fantastic, elegant, hilarious and touching film. I had no idea. Like, the word masterpiece keeps wanting to come out of my mouth. Which is maybe silly. But ... yeah, guys ... this movie might just be one of my all time favorite films.

you think?
Definitely. It's exploring a lot about sexual repression, male insecurity, marriage, and how they're all linked.
Yeah, but its pretty light about it.
Oh, it definitely plays it lightly, but I don't think that detracts from it. I don't think it's a great movie or anything, but I do think it's an interesting one.

Its fun.
But it felt like a short film. Like a ¨ey i have a friend who has an amazing house, lets make a short film¨ type of thing.
I will say, though, that what holds it back from greatness is that it never really arrives at a conclusion about its themes or offers any major insight. It explores, and explores interestingly, but that's all.
