I'll steal it and watch it. Only to watch the train wreck and help me to continue getting in the mind of LV

You wanna know what's going on in my mind? Today I've been obsessing over the parallels between Snyder's imagery in this movie and the imagery in Roman Catholic art.

Exactly. But I think it's more complex than a simple Christ allegory.

I don't doubt that there are lots of interesting things you can do with these characters thematically. I just don't know that i trust snyder to do them.

Who was the writer?

I think there's gonna be a lot of spirituality vs. secularism stuff going on. The contrast between the numinous Superman imagery and the gritty Batman imagery seems clear. And Batman trying to rip Superman down to a mortal level ("Do you bleed?"). I already think it's very interesting just based on what we've seen so far. But, I admit to completely trusting Snyder to do it well.

that doesn't sound very interesting or complex to me.

One man's interesting and complex is another's dull, hamfisted, obvious and done to death.

I'll probably see this movie just to discuss it on RM even if reviews are middling.

This interpretation of Lex Luthor remains my highlight. 'The red capes are coming' line is my favorite. My problem with the do you bleed/so much of the B v S conflict is that it is so joyless and over the top as to seem almost comical, and it'll undercut the more potentially interesting philosophic dimensions

But who knows - maybe these just aren't great trailers

While I've been critical of what I've seen, I'd hardly be shocked if this ends up being good

The action sequences will be pretty good. The plotting will be boring and complex for complexity's sake. Some good one liners coming from wooden non-characters. Some crudely bolted on subtext to get LV's panties wet.

I think the way Snyder is going to explore the spirituality vs. secularism will have contemporary and far-reaching implications that will lend it complexity and relevance beyond simply being religion vs. atheism. To me, it's more about meaning vs. meaninglessness. And that is the ultimate for me. It's why I think Close Encounters of the Third Kind is one of the most profound movies of all time.

I think its going to be a lot of explosions and cramming in a lot of superheros vying for super hero stuff over the course of too long of a movie and then a lot more explosions and fights and then they all decide to work together to beat the bad guy and then the movie will leave us with batman and superman giving each other the stink eye
