But I'd have to say, on any given day, Hoist That Rag, Sins of My Father, Don't Go Into That Barn, How's It Gonna End, Dead and Lovely, Trampled Rose, Make It Rain and Day After Tomorrow are songs I'd put in the "this is in my top 10" category. Certainly some of what I would call his highest highs.

If it's on one of the albums I listed, it's exempt from the post. It's mostly just all the pre-Swordfishtrombones stuff. And a lot of his newer stuff.
That last record was a bummer. It's the only one since the 70's I don't love through and through.
Yeah, I really wasn't feeling it. All the praise it got was a little puzzling to me. Some good tracks, for sure, but a lot of it is a bit of a chore.
I really liked Bad As Me. It's far from his strongest album, but coming down from Real Gone, it was gorgeous. It was almost a full circle type of record, going backward rather than forward. If it ends up being his last record I think it'll serve as a splendid, if safe, career retrospective. It's a nice capper.

It's such a tremendous song. And that solo is tied for best solo with the solo in Make It Rain.
