It's a real possibility that during the BS production meeting when they were discussing their demos, that a handful of tracks were earmarked for record 10/X and then the 11 tracks rec'd for BS. I mean Of The Earth would never have properly fit on BS.

Or those 4 tracks (OTE, Distant Planet, In The Time Of Man, Shift), that could have been the EP that we never saw.

6 tracks under 3:32. Bit worrying but the 1:13 track sounds like it's either a bridging track (Pry, To, AyeD) or a collage track (PMPM). It's not something that PJ does often and both those albums are better for their inclusion.

Thing is, they had a reason for the polished pop sound of Backspacer. That reason was 'New Wave' (whatever that means in their heads) and it was like a sound concept across the whole album. If they start talking about the album having an overall sound concept that's different to what they normally do, I guess we start worrying. But other than that, it's probably just the usual things like brickwalling. If we have a rock album that sounds like a rock album I'll give it a real chance.

Absolutely. I just prefer when the songs have a little more room to breathe. That's my main issue with BS is that I want a bit more music and a bit less of Ed non stop.
