Chicago or Philly

Post by Yield83 »

any help here would be much appreciated. Some friends and I are trying to figure out what shows we want to hit this tour. Now, we are all older now and have kids and we only get 1 shot at this as we are spread out over the country now. Our wives know that when Pearl Jam tours, we all get together for a big hoo rah. Now, we really want to hit the wrigley field shows but we are worried about the viewing situation. Has anyone in here been to that last show where they played there and was it worth it or should we go to philly and be in a typical statdium setting? Again, any help and advise is much appreciated, we want to make sure we make it count as we only get to make 1 trip. Thanks again guys. Pearl Jam!

I would recommend the Philly show. I've been to 2 PJ shows at the Wells Fargo Center ('05 and '13) and it's pretty much the perfect size arena for them. And as long as you get decent seats the sound quality is excellent. I've pretty much tried to avoid outdoor venues as much as possible. In terms of entertainment, Wrigleyville might provide more options before and after the show, but a few years ago Philly built Xfinity Live next to the stadiums so now there are plenty of options for food and drink before the show.

The only people that will go to the Wrigley/Fenway shows are low-number 10C members in their 50's and drunk fans who came to sing along to Evenflow and Jeremy.

Oh wait...
