I am totally with him on most issues (even though the way he frames his positions is maddeningly vague and platitudinous), but I do wonder about the whole "break up the banks" thing. I don't understand what he expects to happen after that's done? It's not like we just suddenly won't need banks anymore. I don't know how it's going to fix anything.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the guy in general. Like I said, I find him frustratingly vague. But that said, I would probably vote for him for his views on single-payer healthcare, which might be the single most important issue for me right now. Also, I trust him on social issues, which are of roughly equal importance to me.

And the economic stuff is probably ultimately for the best even though it makes me uncomfortable.

I was with BOA for a brief couple of years in my early twenties, but other than that I've always been with a smaller community bank. I get the services I need there, I'm not fee'd to death, and I can use any ATM I want. BOA offered no advantage to me that would justify supporting a company that contributed to the financial collapse of this country.

Sounds like an enterprising entrepreneur should set up a decent community bank in your area, the market is ripe for it.
