Also, Temple of Doom is awesome. Never understood the backlash it got.

It is awesome. But it's not a good movie.

what does that even mean

It means that it's not a well crafted film. But it's still fun to watch in spite of its flaws. I can put on Temple and marvel at its badness and be entertained by its more entertaining moments. But that doesn't mean its a competent film. Its the very definition of that thing you don't believe in, actually.

That's absurd. It's an incredibly well-crafted film. You can fault the film for many subjective issues, but it's cinematic craftsmanship isn't one of them.

Time Bandits, Fear and Loathing, and Imaginarium are all good, though.
