I've gotten my son into some Fantasy lately. He refused to read the Prydain series so I started reading the first one to him. A week later he had finished them all. Then I start reading Narnia (publication order, duh) to him and he's halfway through The Silver Chair right now. Next up is The Hobbit and LotR, though they could be harder due to the size as we only have the collated version with all of the books in one.

Me, I've been reading some Matt Taibbi. I don't really like his writing style in the book so far, as it's a little too...lax?...for me. I don't know, it's hard to see him as serious/impartial when he's throwing out curse words like that. It's not like I'm a prude, it's just that Stephen King knows how to write fuck, and Matt Taibbi doesn't quite have the same ability.

Also reading the most colon-ated book I've ever seen: Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens: Star Wars: Aftermath. So far? it's just as good as other EU books and you can take from that whatever your biases let you.

I had to take a break from Ulysses.

In the meantime, I read Slade House by David Mitchel. It was a great distraction. A really taut and enticing ghost story that I was able to devour with nothing but enjoyment. Then I read Ajax Penumbra 1969, which is basically just a short story precursor to Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore, read it in one quick sitting. I dug it.

Now I'm reading Death with Interruptions by Jose Saramago. And it's breaking my heart in all the best ways.

I know! I didn't have my Kindle with me on this trip to Portland, so I haven't started it yet. But I plan on doing that right after DwI.

Anyone here ever read The Library at Mt. Char. A coworker reccomended it and I can't put it down. Neil Gaimnesque, though I like this more (so far) than any of his work

Also, I'm in the final handful of pages of Death with Interruptions. It's taken me a long time to read such a short book. Part of that is because I keep re-reading page upon page. This book is so lovely. I kinda can't get over it.

But I should finish it this afternoon. Man, that'll be a bummer. Maybe I'll start reading it again from the beginning as soon as I finish it.

Calibre is a program for converting epub to mobi and sometimes mobi to mobi so the kindle can read it. It also loads the files onto the kindle. It's free. Maybe Ruddo's file needs some fixin'.
