More looking like 2018. I doubt they will even record this year with such a hectic touring schedule. Any downtime will be dedicated to No Code re-issue.

Re: 11th album rumors and speculation
I'm currently looking forward to the no code reissue more than a new album.

Re: 11th album rumors and speculation
I doubt there's that much to include on a reissue. We've probably heard most of the viable b-sides. The best you'll get is stuff like Corduroy w/ organ or Cready Stomp. I'd much rather have a new record.Sgt. Crackpot wrote:I'm currently looking forward to the no code reissue more than a new album.

Thank god they're so lazy tho. A true modern day Pearl Jam attempt to remaster No Code would probably have the same results as George Lucas "fixing" A New Hope.

2016 Ed singing BOB-remixed "Mankind" is Greedo shooting first.

Stone used to love talking about how he wished they'd taken more time to come up with better parts in those days. Please do not invite him to this project, either.

I know exactly what you're talking about, and it is badass. To my ears, it almost sounds like them jamming out Pilate kinda?tragabigzanda wrote:There's that one riff they're playing in Single Video Theory. Starts with a drum fill by Irons, then it's just two chords. Maybe they finished that? Or at least we could get a '96 instrumental track with a modern Ed vocal, which would be better than nothing.bodysnatcher wrote:Yeah me too, unless there's just a trove of Jack Irons stuff we've never heardevenslow wrote:I doubt there's that much to include on a reissue. Re: 11th album rumors and speculation
I was just thinking with all the weird stuff they tend to say about it they'd be capable of screwing the record up by re-doing it one way or the other. Kind of like when Jeff thought Ten needed to be remixed.McParadigm wrote:Stone used to love talking about how he wished they'd taken more time to come up with better parts in those days. I don't trust them with remastering it either. It could use some more dynamic range, but the remastering will probably go the other way. Besides the 90's records don't really need any remastering and the original versions are likely to remain the best sounding ones anyway.
I've realized remastering only makes sense with albums that were releases before CDs existed, and usually take a long time to be properly issued digitally and sourced from the best available tapes and preferably done by the right engineers.

I'd like to hear a No Code era Brain of J, assuming it's more of a busted up garage rocker.
