by the way, thank you LV. That was fun, and you are a warm and delightful host. I definitely walked away from that with a fuller understanding of where you come from with this stuff. It'll be a lot less frustrating arguing with you in the future :)

That makes sense. Commando could be a purer representation of what is ideal within its genre.


Whether the two genres are equal is a different story.

Jumping back, I agree with Stip about interviews and things directors/writers/actors say about their projects having an affect on how I take in the piece. Trailers not so much. I've gotten to a point where trailers are just commercials and it easy for me to leave those be when I go into a film.

Advertising has an impact on me--it is very difficult for me to ignore, despite being self-aware enough to understand what's happening.

Not in this context, Peter. Actually, I usually don't watch previews. Usually only when... well, at a movie theater or when errybody here is all watching a trailer and I wanna talk about it.
