There's something really discomforting about how 3's ending entangles maudlin nostalgia with corporate consumerism without a hint of irony or examination.

I normally hate when directors go in and "fix" special effects in older movies, but some the effects in "The Mission" during the battle sequence are so bad it's kinda distracting. There are jumping frames and effects that look like someone actually just used a permanent marker on the negative.

I love the movie and would love to see that shit cleaned up.

I think the movie is okay, but Hanks gives probably the best performance of his career. I agree about that scene - it bowled me over.
