I think the San Quentin version of Folsom prison blues is better than the Folsom version. It's a more high energy performance.

How does RM feel about John Moreland?

I have several friends who are huge fans but I can't really get the appeal. Every song I've heard of his has been completely ordinary, with very little zest or soul.

Never heard of him before this vid. This one song is fine. I like the Steve Earle comparison, because they both have similar non-distinct gravelly voices.
