i was team wcw from the moment nitro came on...i watched wwe sporadically and hart was easily my favorite...i was crazy excited when i heard he was jumping ship, so clearly i couldn't have been anymore let down

steiner is pure gold...i wasn't a big goldberg fan, though i did like the intensity and presence he brought

It's probably the most egregious of all WCW's missteps post 96. First off, Bret came in that company as hot as any wrestler could ever be entering a company. It took them about a month to ruin all of that. Instead of presenting him as an equal to Hogan/Savage/Sting as he should have been, he was presented as a midcarder who was a great worker who grew up in the business. Basically they presented him as an equal to Barry Windham rather than a top tier talent. They fucked his character up beyond recognition before he had even been there 6 months.

It's probably 2nd only to Sting not going over Hogan in 97 as far as WCW fuck ups go.
