I gotcha. Fun action flick is what I'm expecting at this point too.

yeah, and that is good too. I heard about this "new" aproach to the character and shit...yeah, i guess the tone will be darker, i guess this "man of steel" doesnt smile...still, there is going to be things blowing up, a city in ruins, some cool moment between the bud guy and our hero...

am i growing up that this doesnt exite me as, let say, the dark knight?

It's so hard to compare this to The Dark Knight. They can't go quite that dark and "realistic". I mean, how do you make a friendly, flying, super powered alien realistic?

I'm really more interested in how this dude does as Clark. I don't think Superman is that hard of a character to pull off. Have there been any pictures of him as Clark with glasses on, or any footage of him speaking in trailers?

If that "growing up" comment wasn't a typo I'm fully with you. In general, my excitement for most forms of art has been dulled with age.

My new benchmark for cool superhero movies is The Amazing Spider-Man. I'm just not as excited about Batman as everyone else. I would like to see this one but I won't be seeing it at the cinema.

So has anyone seen this Watchmen movie? How good is it? I always thought it looked cool.

i read the graphic novel first, then saw the movie. It represented the book greatly. Great visuals, characters just as you'd imagined them in print. Top notch work, hence why I'm excited about MoS.

I didn't really like Watchmen, but then I hadn't had any investment in it beforehand.

I'm definitely not a fan of Snyder... 300 was awful, Sucker Punch was worse, and Watchmen was solid enough to warrant a watch. That's about it.

Vanilla Sky was playing last night and I was surprised to see Michael Shannon essaying the role of Snarky Cop #2.

I thought 300 was OK but I had no need to see it more than once. It may have begun my journey towards conscious queerdom though.

Oh dear. It looked OK until the closeups, the bad dialogue, the green space-blur CGI. I don't know who that 'villain' is but he's awful and obviously cast wrong.

Don't you bad mouth Mike Shannon.

That was sort of a revealing scene, don't you think?

Does 'revealing' counteract awful? If so, not really.

I'm not badmouthing a conceptual villain; I'm badmouthing the execution of said villain in this film. Or is this like a 'But everyone who wears the costume BECOMES the villain' thing?
