And I didn't love The Martian either. But it is better than I expected and probably more entertaining than it has any right to be. So I'd call it a good movie that's worth seeing. But it's not great and nothing to fall in love with.

Legend is the only one for me. But I do need to re-watch Blade Runner.

I appreciate Blade Runner more every time I watch it.

You gotta love Alien.

Rewatching Carrie. My god, De Palma is freakin' incredible. Every shot is so carefully composed, every cut so precisely orchestrated. This is the kind of craftsmanship contemporary filmmakers don't seem to grasp.

I read the book and it didn't quite explore the depth of the main character's isolation like I wanted it to.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I watched the first hour and a half last night, and it is definitely a very good movie. Spielberg is really pushing his stylistic boundaries.

Exactly. It was a very different movie for him.

I love his movies from the last 15 years.

Yeah, I'm an idiot. I absolutely love Alien, Blade Runner, Legend and Kingdom of Heaven. And I really like Hannibal and Prometheus and The Martian. And I enjoy what I've seen of Thelma & Louise. And GI Jane and Black Hawk Down were better than I expected them to be.

Yeah, I guess I like Ridley Scott.
