Its funny you saw that i thougth the same. When they show him with Rob in the Cage with Jaime Lannister last season or early this season and he is huge and completly cgi. This one was one of the regular wolves they used in season one.

I don't get upset about it i understand, but i did notice

Well that would have been an awesome middle of a season episode... didn't love it as a "no more episodes for a year" episode though

Well it is the middle of the book. Still though, I agree. When I saw the 70 minute run time I was thinking maybe one more scene after Danys, along the lines of a cliff hanger. Maybe if they moved the Jon & Ygritte scene to close and didn't reveal if he lived or not (for now).
And we got to see his dire wolf's head on Rob's body.
Overall though can't complain. Really good scenes with the Lannisters and Stannis/Devos/Red Witch whose name I can't think of. Pretty badass too with Arya & the Hound.

The Lannister family spat was great, mostly Joffrey being sent to bed without dinner. But I have a question. When Tyrion went back to his room and Sansa gave him a look, did she already know? Or did he decide not to tell her yet?

It was a great episode... if there were one next week. It felt like they wrapped up the storylines almost TOO well. I told my wife with ten minutess left, they could in theory end this season with the same exact shot they ended season 2 with- and it would make sense.

Episode was good and any scene between Tywin and Tyrion is great.


Though I am a little worried that the 'remaining' characters are not people that viewers are emotionally invested in.

I would think that if any character's storyline starts to diverge from the books it would Theon's.

I don't know how much they would want to diverge without specific direction from GRRM. They could get into long term plot problems pretty quickly.

And I thought the season finale was good. Not every finale needs to be a cliffhanger. It's not like we aren't all going to be counting down the months until the next season premieres anyway.

GRRM has zero legal input anymore. i saw him on Conan the other day and he even said that he knows how the story ends and the producers know, but they might end the show differently if they want. they've already made some major changes that will affect quite a few storylines.
