Don't Believe in X-mas is exactly the kind of fun cover they should be putting out every year. Garden is the weakest most overwrought song on Ten, and Man of the Hour is pretty great.

"Man of the Hour" is great, but "Garden" is immortal.

Tough one here. My vote could change daily.
I'll go with Man Of The Hour.

I love Stone's arpeggiated guitar part to "Garden" -- it has a haunting, rainy ambience to it that sucks me right in. It was one of my very first favorite songs on "Ten," and is still up there. But "Man of the Hour" is one of the finest compositions this band has -- a masterful piece of songwriting full of beautiful transitions and note-perfect resolutions which artifulculates a simple but devastating emotion with plain, unpretentious poetry. It's one of my very favorite things in the Pearl Jam songbook, and a no-brainer for me here.

Garden is the prototypical Creed/Staind song.

Harshly judging the original because of lesser things it inspired is silly.

What I meant to say is that Garden is bad in all the ways that those things are with few of the redeeming qualities of other PJ songs of the time.LoathedVermin72 wrote:Harshly judging the original because of lesser things it inspired is silly.

KD, did you mean to coin the term "artifulculate" in your post?

I like all three of these songs for different reasons. But the correct answer here is clearly Garden.
