Well, they can't play it anymore without tuning down at least a 1/2 step, so you should just vote for Parachutes.
Well, then I guess it's a tie?

This is basically tournament rape and I don't have to take it from you.

Life Wasted kicks ass and Parachutes is overrated.

I like LW just fine n'all, but Parachutes is probably the best song of the modern era PJ (2006 to present).

I'm gonna listen to it right now, let's see if my vote changes.

Nope. Life Wasted wins. Ed sounds great on both songs, but I'm just a sucker for those screechy/nasally rocking vocals. I think I've heard a lot of people express dislike for the way Ed sings on this great song, but I'm not hearing it, he's not doing a single thing here I don't like, maybe one of my favorite vocals from the PRAMG era.

V, it's baffling that we both adore All Or None, both hate Wishlist and yet are so divided over Parachutes.
Yeah, that is kinda curious. I just can't help feeling Parachutes is some sort of bad Beatles-esque rip off. I just really don't enjoy it at all.

I do prefer it to Sirens though, but believe me when I tell you that ain't saying a lot.

It came on a few months ago and I made a face and went eeew.

I'm off for a drive in a few minutes - I'll listen again 'specially once again and report back.

You don't have to listen to the whole song. From 2:30 so it's only 1 minute. The treatment and respect and space they all show is breathtaking and Mike's guitar at 3:00 gives some much energy yet is so simple.

Godammit! I listened to the whole thing and went eeew again, but I must say a lot of that appears to be preconditioned with me from the opening chords. Now I have to go and listen to just the last minute again. I'll report back.
