I've convinced myself it's a work, but that's probably because I dont want him to retire.AndySlash wrote: i'm not buying it yet.

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
bryan is going to be on espn tomorrow with coach. coach tweeted this:
not sure bryan/wwe would pull a work on espn, so that's a bit disappointing to see, but who knows. i guess we'll see what happens tonight.

Yeah, I doubt they would work ESPN like that, buuuutttt, if they were going to involve ESPN in a work, Coach would be the guy.

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
speaking of, jesse ventura broadcast a wwf or wcw match i've since long forgotten with tony schiavone that at one point had jesse yelling, 'you're reaching for straws, schiavone!'. in context it was funny, so i wish i could remember what match it was, but it's a quote i loved and still say today whenever appropriate. i've been waiting/hoping to hear it while watching old stuff on the network, but it hasn't happened yet.

Watched a war games match from the early 90s the other day and pre-stroke JR/Ventura was the announce team and it was fantastic.

i havent faithfully watched wrasslin since the days of snuka and mil mascaras but i watched on youtube daniels fairwell.
you can tell he genuinely loved the life of being a wrestler and it is a shame that he has to end his career like this.

i only saw a few minutes of the speech and yeah i'm sure he's crushed
since I've only recently got back into wrestling i haven't seen much of bryan so take this with a grain of salt, but i found his character boring

I know they are all saying otherwise, but Bryan didnt seem to me like a guy that was doing that on his own terms. His embrace with Vince at the end was icy AF.

I've only just started being interested in wrestling again so I never saw him wrestle, but this kinda made me understand Daniel Bryan and made me wish I watched his story unfold:lennytheweedwhacker wrote:i only saw a few minutes of the speech and yeah i'm sure he's crushed

skip to 19:30 to get to DB's story, but to get the tone i'd recommend watching the whole thing.

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
I was up close and personal for the Daniel Bryan arc - I went to WM 28, 29 and 30. I was chasing the Undertaker's last match (puh!), but ended up being there from the uptake of the YES thing at WM28, culminating at his WM30 triumph. So the little doofus has a special place in my wrasslin' heart.

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
Bryan's rise to the top was happening just as I started watching again, without him(and the network) I probably don't get back into it.

It's a decent comparison, especially when Bryan was a heel.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:i've heard bret say bryan reminds him a lot of owen...I'm not sure if he was just talking in-ring style though
